1/29/13 Aim: How do we set-up a document in Word 2007? Do Now 1: Click on the link below. Run / read today’s audio / text tutorial in Word 2007. If the speakers work, run the audio very low – do not disturb others. If the speakers do not work, read the text on each page to understand the tutorial steps.  After you run the tutorial, practice each step by opening Word, and by following the tutorial instructions. Try different options. Take the 10 question Quiz. If there is time we will Save our document – do not Save until you are given instructions. Turn off the PC at the end of the period. 2/1/13 Aim: How do we draw with Adobe Illustrator? Do Now: Open Illustrator – the orange lady on your Desktop. Go to: File – New – Ok. Click on the Pencil tool and start drawing your Google Doodle. Finish writing the ‘best day ever’ theme in your CTQ doc.

Do Now: Click on the following links to create your Wordle Designs. Use vocabulary terms from this class to create your Wordle. Try all the various Wordle features. Finish any assignment you are missing. Get your CTQ doc ready for a grade. 2/21/13 AIM: What is a Wordle theme-driven design?
Do Now 1: Choose one of today’s Wordle samples and in your CTQ doc write about that theme’s design. Discuss what the theme means and how the artist used different words and colors to define the theme. Notice that sometimes, the title of the design defines the theme. Do Now 2: Pick a theme like the ones in today’s link. In your CTQ doc write a theme-based description of the words you will use to describe your theme – choose a title for your theme. 3/13/13 Aim: Why should we add new vocabulary words to our Google Doodle theme? ‘My Best Day Ever’ Your story should be approximately 50 words – count them! And you should use new words in your narrative. For example, synonyms for the word ‘best’ include: preeminent, unsurpassed, paramount, finest, greatest. To find synonyms rt. click on the word ‘best’ and go to ‘synonyms’. Do Now: In your CTQ doc, add new words to your ‘Best Day’ narrative. Below your narrative, copy and paste the new word and then use that word in a sentence that clearly demonstrates that you understand the word’s meaning. To the side of the sentence add a picture that illustrates the new word. Be ready to show and read aloud your sentence. CTQ: Why is your teacher emphasizing the use of new vocabulary words?

Following yesterday’s template, add columns and rows for the following Life Skills categories: Doing Laundry, Grocery Shopping, and Cooking. These are skills we all need to learn and develop. 4/11/12 Aim: What are some more, and necessary, Budget categories? Do Now: Add these Expenses to your Monthly Budget Table: Laundry, Phone, Internet / Cable, Savings, Clothes, Gifts, Insurance, Gym, Entertainment, Medical, and Transportation. If you add these categories, and you are working at a minimum wage job, you will most likely discover that your Balance will be in the red. This is where you will reconcile, or balance, all of your checking account transactions. Do Now: Carefully read each link. Compare the image from link 1 and 2, and then answer today’s CTQ: What do you learn when you compare the two different check register images?
